To Enroll in the Basic Course
To enroll in the Army ROTC program with no obligation for the first two years, a student must:
- Be enrolled full-time at a college or university (Trevecca students qualify)
- Be of good moral character
The Basic Course is designed so you can explore leadership training without committing to military service.
To Contract & Commission
To contract and commission through the Army ROTC program a student must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be enrolled full-time at a college or university
- Obtain and maintain a 2.5 college GPA
- Pass a medical examination administered by the Department of Defense
- Be under the age of 33 by the time of graduation and commissioning
- Be able to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test and meet height/weight standards
Important Notes for Trevecca Students
- Students enrolled full-time at Trevecca may take Army ROTC courses at Vanderbilt University. Credit transfers back to Trevecca.
- A Trevecca student who successfully completes requirements for a Trevecca bachelor’s degree and the Army ROTC program at Vanderbilt will receive a commission in the Army as well as the degree from Trevecca.
- Students who earn a minimum of 18 credit hours in military science courses will have the Trevecca minor requirement waived.
- Students who participate in the Army ROTC program from area schools receive all benefits, privileges, and compete for scholarships on the same basis as full-time students enrolled at Vanderbilt University.
