Two primary summer training opportunities develop tactical and leadership abilities on the path to becoming an Army Officer.

Field training
~30–31 Days

Basic Camp

An intense introduction to Army life and ROTC leadership training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Designed to motivate and qualify students for the Senior ROTC program.

Primary audience: lateral-entry cadets and students who need to complete the Basic Course requirements in a compressed format. Successful completion allows entry into the Advanced Course.

Required · ~31–35 Days

Advanced Camp

Required for commissioning. Scenario-based training at Fort Knox that evaluates leadership, decision-making, and core Army skills under challenging conditions.

Typically attended between the junior and senior year. It is the culminating leader development experience before commissioning.

Additional Summer Opportunities

These opportunities are competitive and available to qualified cadets. They build skills and can strengthen a cadet’s standing for branch selection and Active Duty opportunities.
